Thank you for your interest in OMSOC, the National Specialty Society for Occupational Medicine in Canada. For a list of all other specialty societies please click here: http://www.royalcollege.ca/rcsite/resources/national-specialty-societies-e.
The Royal College sets the highest standards for specialty medical education in Canada and as a result our members not only participate in the Maintenance of Certification Program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada http://www.royalcollege.ca/rcsite/about/what-we-do-e, but also engage in training the next generation of Occupational Medicine specialists as well as non-specialist peers, contribute to policy development relating to both the specialty and to workplace health, and many hold leadership positions in academia, industry and government.
As the Specialty Society, it is OMSOC’s mission to promote and enhance the specialty practice of occupational medicine, to promote and support continuing professional development for specialists through the accreditation of continuing medical education activities, and to act as the Canadian voice for that specialty.
OMSOC membership comprises primarily occupational physicians certified as specialists, as well as specialists from other medical and surgical specialties with an interest in occupational medicine. OMSOC provides a forum for advancing the practice of occupational medicine by facilitating dialogue amongst physician specialists and between occupational medicine practitioners and members of allied fields, notably government, industry, management, and the law.
On our website, not only can you learn more about our organization and the practice of Occupational Medicine, but you can also search to find a specialist near you.
